Welcome to Lake County. From our rolling
hills to our chain of lakes, you are going to find some
of the most beautiful spots in Florida. The weather averages
in the mid 60’s during the winter months (high 40’s
at night), and 90’s during the summer (70’s
at night). Located in the center of the state, we are
only about one hour away from such major attractions as
Disney, MGM, Universal Studious, Epcot, Kennedy Sapce
Center, Daytona (east coast beaches), and Clearwater (west
coast beaches).
Lake County gets its name because of the 1400 Lakes in
the county. Many are interconnected and referred to as
the “Chain of Lakes”. If you are a real boater,
you can cruise these interconnecting lakes, rivers and
canals to Jacksonville via the St. Johns River and on
out to the Atlantic Ocean.
For golfers, there are over 30 courses within a 30-mile
radius from anywhere in the county.
